Our drivers begin by meeting at our pickup location. From there, your meals will be organized into insulated delivery bags with a route sheet included. This route sheet has your clients properly arranged in order to make your trip as smooth and time efficient as possible. Once you’ve obtained your delivery goods you will be ready to deliver the meals to the seniors on your route.
Our delivery window is between 10:30am to 1:00pm. On average deliveries take an hour and a half, depending on your route. We give our seniors the 2.5 hour window as a means of flexibility for our drivers.
There is no minimum or maximum amount of days that we require our drivers to volunteer. We all have busy schedules and you may not always be able to commit to several routes in a given month. If your’e only able to set aside time once or twice a month, that works for us! Every bit of time that your’e able to donate is valued and appreciated!
You can complete our online volunteer driver application, or download a PDF copy, fill it out and drop it in at our office, along with a copy of your current driver’s license and insurance card.
Once you have submitted your application, you will need to attend a 1½ - 2 hr volunteer orientation. These are held 1-2 times a month at our MOJ office location. Upon receipt of your application, you will be notified of the upcoming sessions. If you have any questions, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 623.594.9588.
We are required to run background checks for anyone involved with Meals of Joy in any capacity. Current fingerprint cards are also acceptable in lieu of a background check. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator with any questions.
At this time, drivers are our only form of volunteering. Please check for updates for more volunteering opportunities as they arise! You can also send us a message indicating your area(s) of interest and skills.
Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. For our contact information or to send us a message, please click here.

MOJ is grateful to the businesses and community members that support our mission to bring a fresh, delicious meal to every senior in need!
Microsoft CCCD Covid-19 Response Fund, AZ Community Foundation, Rosztoczy Foundation, City of Litchfield Park, City of Goodyear, Sundt Foundation, Desert Diamond Casino, Pebble Creek Rotary Club, West Valley Mavericks, and Irish American Club of Goodyear.
A committed volunteer force is vital to bring the MOJ vision of delivering fresh, nutritious meals to our seniors in the West Valley. In order to keep our meals low priced, we rely heavily on individuals who volunteer their time. Our greatest need is in the form of meal delivery drivers.

That said, we also understand that not everyone has the time to commit to volunteering. We are also very indebted to our sponsors and donors. We welcome donations from individuals and companies, or sponsorship from companies.

Uploads need to be named a specific way for this to work. There will be 4 files to upload:
These must be named exactly as shown (no capitalization!), and then uploaded by clicking the "Choose File" buttons. The order you select or attach them is irrelevant - only the naming is critical. The files uploaded will overwrite these existing ones seamlessly, and will immediately be downloadable by anyone clicking the appropriate links.
If you wish to replace less than all 4 files, simply just add 1, 2, or 3 files. After every files upload you will get a 4 result panels. They will either be a green "Success", a yellow "No file uploaded (you were doing less than 4 generally), or a red "Upload failed". Normally, the reason for a failure is trying to upload other than a PDF (only this file type is allowed).
