Charitable Tax Credit
Meals of Joy is a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO).
By giving up to $800 (married couples filing jointly) or $400 (Individuals) to Meals of Joy, you may be eligible to claim the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit on your state taxes. Beginning with the 2016 tax year, credit eligible contributions made to a Qualifying Charitable Organization that are made on or before April 15th (or tax day, allowing for weekends or holidays) may be applied to either the current or the preceding taxable year and is considered to have been made on the last day of that taxable year. This means that you have until April 18th, 2023 to make a donation that can be considered a credit for the 2022 tax year! No itemizing is necessary to take advantage of this tax credit. This means you can reduce the amount you owe for state taxes or increase your refund by the amount you give.
